Happy New Year from AlbinoPigGorilla Studio.
We are busily working on four projects in 2019.
Santa Barbara is in its first draft form as a feature-length screenplay. This is an animated feature about a Stork who gets injured while delivering a baby. At his crash site in the forest they meet Sasquatch, a Bigfoot, and eventually agreed to help each other deliver Sasha. But Sasquatch has a pesky Bigfoot hunter on his tail and the Hunter soon realizes that he’s onto not one but two mythical creatures and he’s going to be rich and famous as soon as he can capture them.
The script is 83 pages, so approximately 83 minutes, and we have a few people reading it see if it works.
The InvestiGator is a retired police detective Crocodile who hates being called “The InvestiGator” and who now only focuses on lost dog cases. However, being a brilliant but underestimated detective, Croc can’t help but sniff out crime and corruption. This leads him to uncover several murders, a large-scale fraud scheme, and an attempt to frame him for most of it.
We’re narrowing down the basic character design for The InvestiGator in preparation to pitch it to Frederator Studios. We’re also hammering out the broad strokes on the story arc for 3 or 4 seasons.
Up Late… is an animated late night talk show parody about a drunk who hosts a talk show from his crappy apartment. But what’s really going on gets revealed as our host, Giuseppe, gradually starts to realize that his reality is not exactly what he assumes it is. This “show” isn’t as great as he thinks it is. What’s more, it’ probably not even a show, more like penance for something he did.
Wild Pugs is an animated short about a family on a camping vacation whose tasty and aromatic picnic is suddenly disrupted by a marauding horde of unknown ravenous creatures. It comes down to mom to save the day.
We have a preliminary animatic of the whole story clocking in at about two and a half minutes. We’ll be animating this in After Effects and are excited to see it finished.
Recently we launched a publishing arm called AlbinoPigGorilla Press and we re-released a novel by one of us called Oxygen Wars. Originally written as a feature-length science fiction screenplay, Oxygen Wars is the story of a dirt planet that is home to thousands of armored human clone soldiers fighting an endless war. Damage sustained by one soldier’s communication system renders Angus invisible and alienated from his fellow soldiers, but free for the first time in his life to question the war as his dormant humanity finally awakens.
